Star Flower (design by Meenakshi Mukerji)

Both attempts were made with 30 units with a 1:2 size ratio.  The design can be found in the book Exquisite Modular Origami.  This was one of the first modular origami books I purchased and is still one of my favorites.

Attempt 1 (below):  Is made from a green mulberry paper purchased from Hollander's in Ann Arbor, MI.  I painted the reverse side with a metallic pink acrylic paint I picked up from Michael's in Lansing, MI.

I didn't really like the final shape.  I think that the paint made the units a bit too think to get units as tight as they needed to be.

Attempt 2 (below): For my second attempt I used a thinner traditional two-sided origami paper I purchased from Kim's Crane online.  I made this one much smaller as can be seen at the bottom.  It's just a cute little thing :)
