Mandarin (design by Ekaterina Lukasheva)

This might just be one of my favorite creations.  It was great fun to fold.  The model design is by Ekaterina Lukasheva.  I folded this out of duo colored origami paper I purchased from Michael's.




The model is made with 30 units and locks well enough that gluing is not necessary.  Each unit is 3 x 6 inches.  The finished model is approximately 7.5 inches.  I love the contrast from using the duo paper.  I love all the different shapes within this model.  I especially enjoyed the geometry of both the unit folds and finished model.  I made a matching tassel secured in place with flower shaped buttons on both the top and bottom.
