This is the third model I have made from Ekaterina Lukasheva's new book Kusudama Origami. I used a printed Mulberry paper in yellow mango I purchased from Hollander's in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I painted the reverse side of the paper with a metallic purple acrylic paint to add contrast.
This model has 30-units. Each unit was made from a 5 inch square. It was a bit more challenging than the two previous models I have attempted from this book, but it was so worth the effort. The mulberry paper I used is a little more fibrous than normal origami papers which make it a little more difficult to get nice clean lines, but the fabric like texture is really lovely with the flower like design. Please see my previous post for a link to purchase Ekaterina's new book, it is full of amazing designs.
